7 gal Adonidia Palm (Manilla Palm) multi
The Adonidia Palm, also commonly called the Manila Palm, is a well-loved ornamental palm with a variety of indoor and outdoor uses. It has a single, smooth, slender trunk topped by fronds that are vibrant green and 4 to 6 feet in length. It is easy to maintain in a residential or commercial setting and adds a beautiful canopy effect and tropical feel to the surrounding space. In addition, it is a self-cleaning palm, so as the palm grows, the lower fronds will naturally die and shed, which helps with pest control.
Medium water needs, and thrives in bright indirect sunlight. This makes it a great fit for a space with large windows or a skylight that lets in an abundance of indirect, natural light.
The genus name Adonidia translates to “little Adonis” which references the beauty and small stature of the palm. The palm quickly grows to 6 feet tall but then growth slows substantially and it maintains the perfect size for your space. The palm has also been called the Christmas Palm because of the red berries it bears in December.
Grower’s Tip:
Up pot the Manila palm early so it can retain more water. The roots don’t like to fully dry out, so a larger pot retains enough moisture in the periphery without the roots sitting in water. Also try a self-watering container such one of our ASI pots.
Pairs well with:
pothos, golden pothos.

Light-Loving
The Manila Palm thrives in bright, indirect light near windows or skylights. It also adapts well to medium-light areas, making it perfect for interiors that crave a natural tropical accent.

Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. The Adonidia Palm loves consistency, making it a great candidate for self-watering pots or sub-irrigation systems (available at our nursery).
