CWI retrofit guide
West Coast Nurseries is a distributor of Planter Technology Controlled Watering Inserts commonly known as CWI.
We offer the service of retrofitting our material into CWI containers.

The following list contains information regarding typical size of CWI required for retrofitting plant material from our nursery growing containers to the appropriate CWI container.

- 6" nursery pot = 8" CWI (the majority of our 6" material requires 8" CWI.)
- 8" nursery pot = CWI required 8" or 10" depending on plant
- 10" nursery pot = 12" CWI for dracaena & 10" CWI for most non-dracaena
- 12" nursery pot = 12" CWI in most cases
- 5g nursery pot = 14" CWI
- 14" nursery pot = 14" CWI
- 7gal nursery pot = 16.5" CWI
- 10g/17" nursery pot = 16.5" CWI
- 15g/18" nursery pot = 22" CWI (some will fit into 17" CWI*)
- 20g nursery pot = 22" CWI
- *note we typically do not stock 17" CWI
- where light or heat might cause excessive water use, using next size CWI may be appropriate
